Carne Asada
When you search online for carne asada recipes, every single one recommends flank, skirt, or some other kind of belt steak.
At $20+ per pound, that's not reasonable.
Instead, I use any of the below are $10 per pound.
- Beef knuckle
- Top sirloin
- Bottom round
The key is to get it cut super thin and then diced. Then use any marinade recipe you find online.
I have a 1/2 inch pizza steel in my oven that I use to cook the bottom of foods while simultaneously using the broiler. This way, I don't have to flip foods where I inevitably burn myself.
I've only done this once so this recipe is a work in progress.
